Created exclusively for English Heritage, this exquisite Victorian Dolls House has been crafted by expert model makers in the UK and draws inspiration from the classic nursery toys of the Victorian period. Painstaking research has gone into creating a faithful representation of the homes of the era, ensuring the historical accuracy of its architectural design and interior flooring, wall coverings and lighting. With its handsome townhouse design and carefully proportioned rooms, the house captures the essence of upper class Victorian life, and nods to those working ‘below stairs’ with its simple kitchen. Six spacious rooms feature rich wall coverings, glowing gaslight (operated by 12-volt mains) and authentic tile and wooden flooring to give a real sense of the time. The highlight of the house is the beautiful drawing room, with its ornate wall coverings and beautiful mantle-piece. Look above the mantle-piece and you’ll find a replica of the 'Neptune' painting by William Dyce hanging at Osborne House.
